Working on the Business and Professional Women of Kingsport Records was a blast. It was a great way to remember the accomplishments of women during Women’s History Month. I’m going to miss the great photographs, political cartoons, and convention souvenirs that made this such an interesting collection.
But the finding aid is finished and online. The collection is now open to researchers and it is time to start the next collection (a real mystery, as it happens). So, as a way of saying goodbye to the BPW, I will leave you with a few more photos spanning three decades.
The picture above and the following one were both taken circa 1940.
Even the stamp on the back of a photograph can provide a bit of history about the town and its business community.
Pictured aboveĀ are Ray & Trudy, Margaret & Harrison Ketron, Valice Hawkins, Joan Lamberson, Luke Barr, Ruth Wexler, Martha Carmichael, and Zella Bellamy.
And lastly, from 1960…
On to the next archiventure!
